Testimony: Horizons


My stay in this property was wonderful. The property is gorgeous, comfortable, clean and has beautiful and modern decor. Normaly the pictures on the real estate sites are better than the real property is, but it was the opposite. The apartment is much better than the pictures on the EMR website. Congratulations EMR, you all have done a great job. Since the begining of the rental process with Heather very efficient, Jack who really was very kind with us when we had a little problem, and Isabel our greeter who is a very sweet person.

Thank you very much and I'm looking forward to coming back as soon as possible to this beautiful City of Vancouver and I hope to be in the same property.

We had a fantastic time in Vancouver because we stayed at Aquarius Mews. The location is perfect for easy strolls along the water, to Granville Island, the Hockey Stadium and to many local restuarants. Being greeted by Simone was a delight, she was so friendly and showed us all of the benefits the apartment has to offer. We will highly recommend to all out friends that this is the place to stay in Vancouver.

The accommodation was excellent and the location was perfect! We booked the apartment for a week and it was exactly as described, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars and the harbour. We tried to do as much as we could but unfortunately there wasn't enough time so we will definitely return!
Our stay was fantastic and I would most certainly recommend a visit.

Testimony: Manor Suite Off Rockland

The Manor Suite was just fantastic. I was required to stay for 4 weeks in Victoria and this beautiful basement apartment was a perfect setting to finish my day and relax. The apartment has all the amenities and is very comfortable. All the appliances and facilities were first rate. A very comfortable separate bed room with hidden laundry and lots of closet space. The modern living room with flat screen tv gave me a space to unwind. The bathroom had an amazing walk in shower and separate tub. The apartment setting is just perfect, in a high end neighbourhood surrounded by beautiful homes and castles. The owners who live upstairs made me feel right at home, enquired to my needs yet repsected my privacy. One morning I was greeted with fresh muffins baked by the friendly owners of the home. Very nice people. I could not have enjoyed my prolonged stay in Victoria any more. This apartment with private entrance made it special and I recommend it for vacations and for executive stays for it very work friendly setup.

A great place for our 1 month stay. Very close to groceryThrifty's, drug store ,several restaurants, and bus to downtown was outside the door. Great morning views of the mountains. The balcony was very good size and a nice place to sit and look at the trees and mountains. The unit was well equipped and thanks to Lisa, Heather , and Brenda for all their help . We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next EMR rental.


Testimony: A Herons Rest

We really enjoyed our stay. The only negatives were that the internet service wasn't working which was disappointing and there was no axe or hatchet available to cut kindling for the wood stove which was otherwise great. Our rating of the price was based on shoulder season rates and was pretty reasonable but I thought the addition of a cleaning charge seemed a bit much.

Overall we would definitely do it again.


The EMR Vacation Rentals Response

We are very glad you enjoyed your stay at A Heron's Rest. It really is a wonderful place to experience the ocean at your door step. The owner of the property has asked us to provide their response to your concerns about the internet, axe or hatchet usage, and the cleaning fee.


Owners Response:
All internet access information is in the guest directory on site or can easily be resolved by calling the Greeter in place for assistance. No call was made and we checked into the internet connection and it had been verified that the internet is working fine.
An axe is not permitted on site due to liability concerns, but a log splitter is there which is communicated upon arrival. (Plenty of split wood and kindling is left for the guest stay).
The $75 cleaning fee is used to pay professional cleaners to ensure the property is made ready for the next guest also so the guests do not have to be concerned about cleaning the property themselves. It is common practice to charge the cleaning cost separate from the accommodation rate in the vacation rental industry so the guests can see how much it is. We are looking at changing our rates so it will include cleaning in the accommodation rate.

EMR Vacation Rentals management note: Our normal cleaning fee on a 3 bedroom property range from $150-$175. The $75 cleaning fee on A Heron's Rest is half the cleaning price on most properties.

Testimony: Firenze Condo

Isabel and Julia were superbly professional, caring and extremely responsive, however, the property itself fell far short of expectations.
It was not cleaned well with carpet stains, dust, bathroom sink clogged, etc.
Many basic things were missing or not working several light bulbs, toaster, vacuum, charge cord and pads for Swiffer, top-sheet for futon, and salad bowl.
There was no DVD player expected at this price level.
Egregiously, the electricity was turned off for 2 days, because the owner neglected to pay the bill or deal appropriately with the utility company.

Isabel and Julia both worked together to provide the missing items, correct the electricity problem as fast as possible, and communicate with me constantly to soften the impact and asuage my anger at the failings of the property. Only because of their professionalism and genuine concern would I even think of returning as a client.


The EMR Vacation Rentals Response


Thank you for sharing your experiences at Firenze. We are apologizing for the problems you have had during your stay and have worked with the owner to correct the deficiencies as laid out. The property has been set up with the items missing and the carpet has been professionally cleaned. The owner has compensated for the electricity issues.

Testimony: Courtyard Mews

After staying nearly one month in the apartment I'd like to tell our negative but also positive impressions and thoughts respectively. Here are the drawbacks of the apartment. Old and partly unuseable kitchen utensils especially knifes and pans, useless desk due to the construction glass boards, working was unpossible, there were only high tables which are not really comfortable despite there would be enough space for a nice dinning table, renewing the mattress and the ironing board should be considered. The pros of the apartment were the size, the balcony as well as the spacious closet. Furthermore I would like to thank you the owner for the quick replacement of the iron.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The house was very roomy and the hosts were friendly and helpful. One minor complaint was the hot tub. We used it almost every day and it was never quite right. The temperature was either too hot or too cold and we couldn't adjust it. Time to invest in a new one!

We had a wonderful stay. The only problem we had was that the barbecue grills in both houses didn't function properly. But we would certainly recommend the houses to other people. They were both in beautiful settings and excellent condition.

The only compliant I had is the ads imply a little closer to the beach than actual. We had 8 grandkids in tow and would have preferred to walk, but the distance was much further than anticipated as implied on the website.
Otherwise the stay was good.

We totally enjoyed our stay at Cloud 9 in Vancouver, BC. It was superb! It was probably one of those rare times where our expectations were not only matched, but exceeded! Beautiful place, awesome view, very secure and Don did a great job of showing us around the entire complex.

The condo itself had everything we needed and we were impressed with the very modern and high-end furnishings! We also really enjoyed the spectacular views from the balcony which wraps around the entire suite. We felt really at home.

It was also a real bonus that Nester's Market and London Drugs are both right in the complex on the main level. If we needed anything, we could quickly get it.

We would definitely return to Cloud 9 whenever we will have the opportunity to visit Vancouver in the future.

We always enjoy our trips to BC tremendously. These accommodations are the most convenient to our activities and the most comfortable we have ever experienced in our nine years of visiting BC. This was our third year in this property. Working with the EMR Vacation Rentals staff is great. We hope to return.
